Tatting & Bobbin Lace Makers
Member of International Old Lacers, Inc.

Bobbin Lace derived its names from the equipment used to create the lace. A BOBBIN is usually a 4" long carved wooden instrument that holds the thread to be woven.

Tatting is a type of knotted lace made with a shuttle from cotton or linen thread. A SHUTTLE is about 2' long and 3/4" wide usually made of celluloid, bone, tortoise shell, wood or plastic. The shuttle holds the thread being knotted.
